Meet the team

Julian is an experienced electrical and mechanical engineer with a background lecturing in solar PV, training in Germany, and sales & marketing in a multi-national pharmaceutical company. Julian established freewatt in 2008 based near his home in Stow, Lincolnshire. Julian manages the business and large-scale investment projects. He is a finalist for the Lincolnshire Echo & Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce young business person of the year 2010.

Gary came to freewatt following a 25 year engineering career in HM Forces. Gary’s background includes multi £m project management and ISO9001 management as well as electrical engineering. Gary manages our installations and bespoke engineering projects.

Liz joined freewatt following a career most recently including sales and customer service in the construction industry. Liz is both our senior administrator, PA to Julian and runs our advertising and marketing strategy.

Throughout Dirk's career he has been a management consultant with international deployment. His speciality lies in productivity and process improvement with a strong focus on sales and marketing. One of the first customers of Freewatt Ltd, he like the company so much that he joined the team!

Gabrielle joined our team following a background in retail management and design. Gabrielle is our senior designer, project planner and grants advisor.

Alex joined freewatt following a career in various areas of environmentalism and sustainability. He has a degree in environmental science and has worked for IEMA and the sustainability team in Lincolnshire County Council. Alex is both our microgeneration surveyor and environmental consultant.

Ruth joined the team following a career in administration and teaching. After a post-graduate teaching degree at Bishop Grosseteste College she taught at several Lincolnshire primary schools specialising as a science coordinator. Ruth is our educational specialist helping to further develop our unique services for schools for the science, technology, engineering and maths curriculums.

Peter is a Chartered Engineer and Environmental Manager. He joined Freewatt in August 2011 after taking early retirement from the Environment Agency. After five years working for government, he was keen to get into a growing local company working to deliver greener solutions in Lincolnshire and across the UK. He came to Freewatt because he was already a satisfied customer!

Bob gained a BSc(hons) Recreation Management at Lincoln University. For two summer seasons he instructed rock climbing and other outdoor pursuits in North Wales before gaining employment in Forestry and Landscaping work back in my home town of Lincoln. He then moved to work for a an Environmental Social Enterprise in Lincolnshire working with and managing disengaged young people, continuing to do Forestry and Landscaping work, but also leading the Duke of Edinburghs' Award Expeditions and managing a successful project to provide jobs for long-term unemployed young people. During his four and a half years employment there, he worked for one year on an award winning Eco-build project learning various building techniques and building an interest in renewable resources. He has a keen interest in the environment and outdoor sports.

Following a background in Graphic Design Sally graduated, with Honours, from the University of Lincoln in 2005 with a degree in Media Production. More recently Sally has enjoyed a number of years working in the field of customer service, including various managerial roles within the restaurant industry. Sally joined the Freewatt team in January 2011.

Chris joined the Freewatt family as an installation team leader

Dan started his working life as a bricklayer, qualified to NVQ Level 1 & 2 - and expanded his trade in to general building work. Dan joined the Freewatt team in June 2010, bringing with him his 11 years of building experience.
