Solar PV on
historical buildings

Green without
compromising aesthetics

Freewatt has been at the forefront of providing solar PV installations for historical buildings and have installed PV arrays on many sites that have become renowned as some of the best examples of how community buildings can aspire to use Solar PV energy without compromising building aesthetics or damaging the sensitive fabric of the building.

The solar PV system which we installed on the Grade 1 listed St Denys’ Church in Sleaford was officially opened and blessed by the Rt Reverend Dr John Saxbee, Bishop of Lincoln. It has since been visited by the Archbishop of Canterbury and recognised as a benchmark for how listed buildings can utilise green energy.

We were also appointed to install solar PV panels on the Grade 1 Listed All Saints Church in Wing, Bedfordshire. This is the second largest installation on a historical building and we are now recognised by English Heritage as the listed buildings specialist.
