about freewatt
Freewatt Ltd was established in April 2008 by Managing Director Julian Patrick, an experienced electrical and mechanical engineer with a background in lecturing in solar photovoltaics (PV).
The company was founded on a strong ethical foundation, aiming to be both environmentally and financially sustainable. We were established as the first carbon-neutral company in the county. As we have grown we still passionately believe in the same principles and strive to practice what we preach. We are even developing our own 3.3MW solar farm project.
By providing innovative, quality solutions we have made renewable energy technologies not only environmentally friendly, but attractive as a long-term low-risk investment.
When you consider spending many thousands of pounds on a solar PV project it is imperative that you take care in choosing the right installation partner. In order to ensure you will get a reliable return on investment you need to be certain of the credibility of your installation company and their ability to not only install a premium quality system but also meet any servicing needs you have for the next 25 years.
Freewatt was the first company in Lincolnshire to gain the MCS accreditation for both solar PV and wind turbines. We are continuing to build on our reputation and have installed all of the largest and highest profile installations in the region. Although we hold MCS accreditation it is a minimum standard for the industry and does not guarantee the quality of an installation company. We would prefer to put you in touch with our many satisfied customers. 90% of our new projects come from referrals from satisfied customers. The quality of our work is testament to what we can provide. Please look at our testimonials.
A good example of our craftsmanship is the work we have carried out on heritage buildings. In 2009 we installed the largest solar PV system on a Listed building in the UK utilising our unique fixing systems. The 9.9kWp system on Grade 1 listed St Denys’ Church in Sleaford was officially opened and blessed by the Rt Rev Dr John Saxbee Bishop of Lincoln and has since been visited by the Archbishop of Canterbury. It has been recognised as a benchmark and leading example of what community buildings should aspire to. Since that installation we have installed the next largest PV installation on Grade 1 Listed All Saints Church in Wing Bedfordshire. We are now recognised by English Heritage as the Listed building specialist.
